social comparison

Feeling Behind In Life? Do This.

Social comparison indeed is the thief of joy.

When you compare yourself to others, you’ll always see what you’re missing instead of celebrating what you already achieved and have in life.

Comparing yourself to others also diminishes your ability to see your true worth and potential that’s yet to be discovered.

However, there are times when you can’t stop yourself from comparing yourself to others because you see them succeeding and winning in their life at a faster timeline than yours.

But there are ways you can stop yourself from social comparison and start living your own dreams.

List Down What Truly Matters For You

Make a list of what truly matters to you. Think of those that fulfill you.

This should be done on a regular basis.

Don’t limit yourself to thinking of only materialistic things such as having your own house and car or having a huge income. Consider too what makes you feel alive on a daily basis.

Think of what keeps you having a positive mindset despite all the negativity happening around you.

This will all connect to the kind of impact that you have on other people.

Think of how you changed and contributed positively to the lives of other people. Don’t ever forget that these things truly matter.

Choose Yourself Always to avoid Social Comparison

Make sure that you’re always there for yourself 100% at all times.

When this happens, you know you’re doing the right thing because you’re prioritizing yourself.

Remember to always honor your core values and learn how to say no to things that don’t align with them.

Most of the time, what’s stressing you out are the things you’re doing outside your core values.

This will lead you to compare yourself to others because you are misaligned with your current goals and actions. Stop looking at other people and ignoring your own core values so you won’t see yourself doing comparisons.

Be Intentional

Start being intentional with your dreams, goals, actions, and decisions. Choose the definition of happiness and success for yourself.

Have a life that’s free from society’s expectations of you.

Make it a point that you are intentionally living the best of your life for yourself.

Stop letting others decide for your own good. Time to say goodbye to people pleasing and putting yourself last on the priority.

You need to be intentional about the kind of life you want and start taking radical action to make it happen. Taking action with the clear intentions of what you want in the future will lead you to success.

It will be for the better if you stop comparing yourself and start living out your dreams.

May these simple tips help you in what you need to do to see your true worth and not fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others.
