How To Crush Your New Year’s Resolutions

Are you getting the year off to the right start? Another year has come, and another year has gone. Now what?

In an article by Forbes, it said that only 8% of the US population actually achieves their New Year’s Resolutions.

So, how can you become one of the 8%?

I’m giving you tried and true practices to make sure that you achieve your goals this year.

Get An Accountability Partner

Whether it be a coach, a friend, or a coworker, you need someone who is going to commit to the whole year. Maybe choose someone you’re trying to nurture a friendship with so that you can achieve two goals at the same time. Accountability is key.

Create Realistic Goals

AND have fun doing it. Sometimes I can take myself way too seriously. I forget to have fun and then I’m stressed out all the time. Create at least one big Fun Goal for the year and make sure to schedule fun into your calendar right now before you fill it all with work.

Make Yourself A Priority

We work hard, but we end up taking care of our families and friends before ourselves. What would amazing self-care look like for you? For me it’s a monthly massage and I put it in the calendar because, just like fun, if it’s not in the calendar, it’s not getting done.

Create Actions For Every Piece Of Your Plan

You can’t just ‘set it and forget it’. Above all, you have to create a plan to achieve your goals. Don’t just try to do everything in January. If you’re unsure about what actions you need to be taking, this is the perfect time to check in with that accountability partner of yours.

KISS

Keep It Simple Sweetie. Let’s not overcomplicate the process because it won’t do you any favors. Do simple doable things that can help you achieve big results every single day. Break it down into bite-size chunks every single day and don’t overwhelm yourself with unnecessary complications.

Check-In Each Quarter

This will help you make sure you’re on target. It will also allow you to be realistic with your goals and check that you’re managing your time. If you’re evaluating on a regular basis, you can tweak your goal as necessary, rather than beat yourself up about it at the end of the year.

Create A Vision Board

Small business owners who use visualization are more likely to meet their entrepreneurial goals. It will allow you to be more powerful, more confident, and more realistic. How can you bring your goals to life? Use those New Year’s Resolutions to spark the inspiration for your board.

Tap Into Your Heart & Soul Desire

Look at what you really want to do. Make sure that your goal is NOT someone else’s goal. It should truly light you up. Why do you want this goal and what would it give you? Move that ego out of the way to find out if it is truly what you desire. Because you need to be in charge of your life.

I want you to take action in each of these areas so that you can have a life that is fulfilled.

Now get out there and crush those New Year’s Resolutions!
